Kauai Wedding Locations
Kauai offers scenic tropical locations, and stunningly beautiful beaches to get married on. Please pick from our favorite wedding spots below, and check out our recommendations for wedding times (summer or winter), and what to wear for a tropical beach wedding. Please also see our map of Kauai to show you where the beaches are located.*
TIP: The best way to choose a beach location is to start from where you will be staying on the island. If you are enjoying a hotel on the south shore you may not want to get married on the north shore as it would be about an hour and a half in driving time from the south shore to the north shore (each way!). If you're staying somewhere on the east side of Kauai you could get married most anywhere as this location is very central with no wedding beach more than a 30-45 minute drive away, and many as close as a 5 minute drive from your hotel or B&B.
* Please note that the beaches in Hawaii change on a daily basis, depending on ocean currents & tides and the occasional storm may deposit drift wood on certain beaches. We can not guarantee that the beach of your choice will look exactly like on the photos below, as we have no influence over Mother Nature.
* Please note that from experience we choose not to go further North than Hanalei, or further West than Poipu.
#5 The Point @ Shipwreck's Beach - South Shore of Kauai
Shipwrecks Beach is located right outside the Hyatt Hotel in Poipu, Kauai. "The Point" at Shipwreck's Beach is located at the most western part of this beach. This is an area less busy and you get nice distant views of the famous Shipwreck cliffs. We suggest an afternoon wedding starting no later than 3-4 PM. (3 PM in the WINTER time, and 4 PM in the SUMMER time.)
No site fee - $50 drive out fee.
The Department of Land & Natural Resources of the State of Hawaii is requiring a Use PERMIT for all beach weddings. The fee for this permit, that we'll file on your behalf, is depending on the size of your group, and will cost you between $75 - $200.

#8-A Wailua Beach - East Side of Kauai
This is a beach that offers a really nice secluded wedding spot, perfect for a mid afternoon ceremony. There is a nice tree trunk that a larger group can sit on (don't hold us to that though, because the ocean might take this tree at some time), and there are some nice pictures to be taken with palm trees in the background. We suggest to start the wedding at 3 PM in the SUMMER time, or 2 PM in the WINTER time.
No site or drive out fees.

The North Shore locations are more lush and tropical, but Kauai's North Shore also gets more rain, which means that the weather can be uncooperative, especially in the winter months. The South Shore locations are more hot and sunny - and the weather tends to be mostly sunny. The East Shore is somewhere in between, but as the trade winds usually come from the east, offers some nice breezes, which keeps everyone cooler. Please make sure to wear light and airy wedding attire to feel comfortable on the beach, as heavy fabrics can make you feel overheated.

Hi Mike and Martina, We just wanted to thank you for your services. Reverend Todd and Johannes were both great to work with. Both of them provided us with instruction and direction that were much needed on a day like that. They made the atmosphere very relaxed and intimate and at the same time allowing us to feel completely comfortable. It was a great experience for the both of us, it was a day we will never forget. We will happily recommend you guys to friends if they decide to get married on the island. Again thank you so much.

I would like to take this moment and express our gratitude to you, and everyone at Kauai Island Weddings. Your flexibility, kindness, compassion, and patience is so appreciated that I'm almost at a loss for words. Our special day really was amazing! As we go through this life and experience milestones, our concern that "everything must be perfect" sometimes overrides our chance to just be in that moment. Thanks to you, we got to revel in our moment, one hundred percent. From the bottom of our hearts, Lisa and I wish you all the peace, love and happiness that we feel. Thank you so very much! Aloha Martina and Mike,
Thank You! I am writing to tell you what a wonderful experience our family had at Nicole and Nathan's wedding ceremony. I can’t even begin to tell you how wonderful you are. It was a little scary for us with not knowing anyone who has done this over the internet before but..... I would recommend you to everyone I know. The pictures and the videos were amazing! What a great job! I also think the coffee table book was outstanding! Pat yourselves on the back, you made my daughter and her new husband very happy. My partner and I had the great privilege of staying at the Tea Garden Cottage and it was so serene and peaceful! Again, Thank You! We will be back….and we have been telling everyone how wonderful you both are.

Hello, Martina & Mike...
We received the DVD of the pictures yesterday and they are BEAUTIFUL! The photographers both did an excellent job using us to block the other people at the beach! There are so many that it's almost like a video!
Thanks, Christine Kingsley Photo
